Patient Access Representatives

3 month Contract Location: Houston, TX 77024 Shift: Mon - Fri 8a-5p $18.50/hr

Job Summary:

We are seeking a experienced Patient Access Representatives for a temporary 3 month contract position. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of current experience in a hospital or clinic setting and possess strong multitasking and communication skills. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring a smooth patient experience by handling scheduling, insurance verification, and payment processing, while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred

  • Current 2 years of experience in a hospital or clinic setting

  • Ability to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficient typing and keyboarding skills

  • Current Seasonal Flu Vaccine

  • Current TB Skin Test or Chest X-ray

  • Bilingual

  • EPIC Care Experience

  • Insurance Verification

  • Customer Service

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Patient Scheduling & Information Entry: Schedule patient appointments and input necessary information accurately and efficiently into the system.

  • Demographic & Financial Information: Collect and enter demographic, insurance, and financial data with a high level of accuracy.

  • Form Explanation & Signature Collection: Clearly explain required forms and obtain necessary patient or guarantor signatures.

  • Compliance & Payment Options: Ensure compliance with medical necessity regulations, establish payment arrangements, and screen patients for eligibility.

  • Insurance Verification: Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, ensuring all authorizations and notifications are completed within required timeframes.

  • Payment Posting & Receipts: Post payments in the system and generate appropriate receipts for patients.

  • Account Monitoring & Resolution: Review and resolve patient account issues in a timely manner.

  • Professional Communication: Maintain effective communication with physicians, staff, insurance companies, patients, and families.

  • EPIC EMR experience, nice to have.

  • Professional Development: Promote personal growth by meeting continuing education requirements and serving as a resource to less experienced staff.

  • Commitment to Care: Model our organization's service standards by providing compassionate and personalized care.
