We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry located in San Francisco, California. We are seeking a Property Accountant to join our team. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring that accounting transactions align with GAAP, preparing various fee calculations, and assisting with the quarter-end close process. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily and weekly cash analysis on project-level, review expenditures, and respond to inquiries.
  • Make vendor callbacks to verify banking information updates.
  • Monthly responsibilities include recording accounting transactions in compliance with GAAP, preparing fee calculations, and conducting balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Assist Asset Managers with loan draw requests and ensure timely debt service payments.
  • On a quarterly basis, participate in the closing process, help prepare financial statements and investor reports, and assist with ad hoc reports.
  • Annually, support the preparation of financial documents for auditors, assist with information gathering for financial statement preparation, and address tax and audit inquiries.
  • Work on ad-hoc projects in collaboration with the Accounting Manager and Property Controller.
  • Participate in accounting analysis for acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Understand and interpret legal agreements such as Loan Agreements, LP Agreements, and LLC Agreements.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, maintain a professional attitude, and a safe working environment.
  • Be available for any additional assignments, maintain company confidentiality, and fulfill all company training requirements.


  • Proficiency in accounting software systems such as AMSI and AppFolio
  • Demonstrated skills in account coding
  • Experience with ADP - Financial Services
  • Knowledge of accounting functions including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
  • Understanding of accrual accounting principles
  • Familiarity with auditing procedures
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Relevant work experience in the real estate property/facilities management industry
