Responsibilities for Procurement Specialist:

  • Oversee and manage inventory levels of assigned vendor products to ensure optimal stock quantities.
  • Initiate, prepare, process, and place purchase orders with designated vendors in a timely manner.
  • Monitor inventory metrics to achieve target fill rates and maintain appropriate days of inventory on hand.
  • Provide prompt support and information to sales and customer service teams regarding product inquiries.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and accounting departments to resolve any product-related issues.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify and address slow-moving items, partnering with the sales team to strategize inventory turnover.
  • Accurately input transactions and manage the purchasing and contracts system.
  • Assist the Bid team by providing necessary support for customer quotations.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous pricing, product specifications, and availability, while maximizing cost savings.
  • Expedite orders to address delays and manage changes, returns, replacements, and credit arrangements effectively.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure procurement aligns with organizational needs and timelines.
  • Cultivate and maintain healthy relationships with vendor representatives to support business objectives.
  • Ability to help support other procurement functions as needed.

Qualifications for Procurement Specialist:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a replenishment or similar role.
  • Requires a High School diploma or general education development (GED) diploma.
  • Proficient computer skills, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
  • Proven negotiation skills and experience.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and their application in inventory management.
  • Possession of a valid NC driver license
  • Ability to pass the company background and Motor Vehicle Report and the company drug testing requirements.

The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with a proactive approach to inventory and procurement management. They will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset to work effectively across various teams within the organization.

Physical Demands of the Job

  • Ability to sit for at least 6-8 hours/daily
