Job DescriptionJob DescriptionTRC seeks a full time Buyer/Assistant Manager for a leading automotive manufacturer in Savannah, GA.  Position preferences include automotive industry experience and prior leadership experience. 
General SummaryResponsible for leading general purchasing (such as steel & aluminum/sub materials/paints/equipment/MROs) activities and supplier management relating to cost, quality, supplier controls, legal, compliances, and service for firm Provide leadership and direction the general purchasing Organization. Operates and manages the organization.  Establish and settle work procedures and processes for the General purchasing section with HOS. Establish business plans and goals of team and manage progress. This role also manages a general purchasing group and reports to the Head of General purchasing section  Cooperate with related departments such as the headquarters, other divisions, and external organizations, and support internal communication.  Attend meetings related to purchasing department and prepare meetings and reports Support communication between Korean and local employees.  Major responsibilities In the initial stage, develop/design/set-up/adjustment/execution, and overall management and supervision of all processes of general purchasing (according to local conditions/legal) should be carried out, and consultations with relevant departments/related corporations and government agency should be conducted proactively. Manage overall duties about general purchasing Prepare, report, and implement Request for Quotation (RFQ) for general purchasing Select, develop, and manage supply base for General Purchasing products and services by: o Preparing Request for Quotations (RFQ) for user department requirements. o Negotiating spot purchases and long-term agreements. o Maintaining competitive pricing. o Leading yearly cost reduction activities. o Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance. Formulate and implement yearly commodity and supply base strategy. Work closely with supplier to optimize supplier processes. Explore available technology and implement best practices related to purchasing activities. Plan, organize, track, and disseminate information related to General Purchasing suppliers. Manage vendor and pricing data in ERP system  Other Perform special projects or other duties as assigned that occur from time to time Actively communicate with HQ to ensure clear and consistent decisions Support related activities, events, and tasks  Qualifications & Preferences Minimum: Bachelor’s degree (all majors) Solid Excel and computer skills Deep understanding of external market and current trends Experience in General Purchasing Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future  Preferred: Job related experience in Automotive or related Industry Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation preferred  Competency Based:  Working With a Team Planning and Organizing Problem Solving Communication Strategic thinking and mindset Willingness for transformational changes Flexibility Travel Requirement Domestic / International travel required.
