Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller based in Honolulu, Hawaii. This role is critical in the construction and contractor industry, where you will be in charge of a variety of accounting functions and supervising the accounting staff. This role also involves developing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures related to the accounting department.

Responsibilities:

• Execute essential accounting functions in alignment with the operations of the company
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure smooth cash flow
• Oversee the management of fixed assets and payroll operations
• Handle tax and financial reporting functions to ensure regulatory compliance
• Supervise the accounting staff and foster their professional development
• Develop and review Standard Operating Procedures and control practices related to the accounting department
• Use various accounting software systems like 3M, ADP - Financial Services, CRM, and Crystal Reports to optimize accounting functions
• Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
• Perform auditing tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance in all accounting functions
• Take part in budget processes to ensure financial efficiency and growth

This role will require a diverse set of skills, including knowledge in accounting, budgeting, planning, financial analysis, and tax laws. Proficiency in using several accounting software systems will be critical to perform your duties effectively.• Possess at least 2 years of experience in a Controller role within the Construction/Contractor industry.
• Proficient in the use of 3M and other relevant tools.
• Expertise in Accounting Software Systems is essential.
• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is advantageous.
• Experience with CRM and Crystal Reports is desired.
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions is a must.
• Ability to manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Prior experience in Auditing is required.
• Knowledge of Budget Processes is necessary.
• Must be able to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
• Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) is a plus.
