Job Summary:

Hawaiian Electric Company is seeking a skilled Control Mechanic to join our team. As a Control Mechanic, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic indicating, alarming, recording, regulating, and communications equipment in our generating stations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic control systems.
  • Work with supervisory personnel or technicians to optimize, troubleshoot, and repair complex control systems.
  • Install and maintain instrument and control piping, wiring, tubing, and fittings.
  • Maintain instrument air filtering systems.
  • Test for hydrogen leaks and purge and refill generators.
  • Repair and maintain test equipment.
  • Take data as required.
  • Work from drawings and instruction manuals on all control equipment and instrument installations.
  • Use hand tools and some power tools as required, including light gas welding and brazing.
  • Operate material handling and other equipment as required.
  • Record a description of work completed.

Requirements:

  • Ability to identify and distinguish different colors and color hues.
  • Must pass the Company Written Job Knowledge Test (Journeyman, 1st Year).
  • Graduate of applicable HECO apprentice program or equivalent training and experience.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.

Location:

Honolulu - Oahu.

Wage:

$54.27 - $54.27.
