We are offering a contract opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join a client of ours in Bellevue. This role is vital within the finance department and is open for remote work. This position involves being a part of the team who processes the company's multi-state US and Canadian payroll using Workday.
Key responsibilities:
• Oversee the management of multi-state US and Canadian payroll operations using the Workday platform
• Ensure compliance with all domestic and international payroll tax reporting requirements
• Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive payroll records
• Ensure accuracy and timely processing of payroll
• Oversee and ensure all payroll related changes are processed correctly
• Prepare and provide required payroll reporting to internal and external stakeholders
• Develop and implement payroll audit and review procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Proficiency in payroll software, particularly Workday and JIRA
• Strong understanding of payroll tax laws, regulations, and best practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
• Strong interpersonal skills, capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred
• Relevant professional certifications such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) would be an asset.
