This is a remote role That being said, you MUST live in the Syracuse, Utica, Southern Tier, North Country, Albany or Rochester area. They want to hire someone who is at least regional.


Only candidates with healthcare industry experience will be considered.


Chris Preble is working with a client of his in the healthcare industry that has a newly created Accounting Manager role due to growth. Reporting into the Director of Finance, this Accounting Manager role will help be responsible for leading and managing daily accounting operations, providing financial reporting and analysis, and ensuring our financial practices align with healthcare regulations.


Responsibilities:


Financial Management:

  • Help oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Healthcare-Specific Accounting:

  • Ensure accurate tracking of healthcare revenue streams, including Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance reimbursements, and patient billing.
  • Manage the accounting for healthcare-specific costs such as facility operations, medical supplies, and staffing.
  • Oversee the revenue recognition process for various healthcare services, ensuring compliance with industry-specific accounting standards.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Help lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to create accurate financial plans.
  • Provide regular financial forecasts and variance analyses, offering insights into financial performance and recommending corrective actions.

Compliance and Internal Controls:

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare financial regulations, including HIPAA, CMS, and other applicable standards.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations, including healthcare-specific tax treatments.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow and professional development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including billing, finance, and operations to improve financial processes and systems.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate regular reports on financial performance, highlighting key trends and metrics relevant to healthcare services.
  • Support senior management with ad hoc financial analysis and decision support, particularly related to cost management, profitability analysis, and funding initiatives.


• Experience in the healthcare industry is required (or if you have public accounting industry experience, having healthcare industry clients is ok too)
