Job Description:
We are an established manufacturing company in Matthews seeking a skilled AutoCAD Drafter/Designer with experience using Autodesk Inventor. This role primarily involves drafting, with potential for design work in the future. You’ll be part of a great team environment, collaborating with sales, engineers, and managers to produce precise equipment layouts, 3D models, detail drawings, and assembly diagrams. Your expertise will contribute to creating detailed design documentation, estimating CAD project time and costs, and delivering accurate drawings and bills of materials. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and proficiency with Autodesk Inventor.

Key Responsibilities:
Utilize CAD software (Autodesk Inventor) to create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, including dimensions, parts specifications, and application-specific information.
Prepare clear, definable drawings and bills of material for new and complex layouts.
Collaborate with sales, engineering, and assembly teams to develop design concepts and equipment layouts.
Revise designs to resolve issues and enhance functionality based on team feedback.
Coordinate with vendors to ensure all design requirements are met and components are sourced effectively.

Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical or Civil Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
Proven experience with Autodesk Inventor.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Strong mechanical aptitude.

Preferred Skills:
3D modeling with Autodesk Inventor.
Experience in material handling applications and mechanical systems.
Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly.
Familiarity with vendor communication and coordination.
Knowledge of 24V DC power and pneumatics (a plus).
Strong ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
Self-starter who thrives in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
