Job DescriptionJob DescriptionLHH Recruitment Solutions is actively seeking a CAD Drafter/Designer for a direct hire opportunity with a client in the Equipment Engineering industry. This role is based in the Charlotte area. In this role you will provide support to sales, engineers and managers by preparing equipment layouts, 3D models, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for a variety of products based on customer needs.

  • Work closely with product development teams to create accurate and precise design specifications based on customer needs and engineering requirements.

  • Assist in the design, modeling, and drafting of parts, assemblies, and tooling using CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks)

  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, and manufacturability standards.

  • Modify and revise existing designs to improve functionality, efficiency, or manufacturability.

  • Perform tolerance analysis and design for manufacturability (DFM) to ensure high-quality production outcomes.

  • Generate and maintain detailed technical documentation, including part and assembly drawings, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and instruction manuals.

  • Conduct design reviews and provide technical support throughout the product development cycle.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards, materials, and best practices to continually enhance design quality.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Drafting, Design, Engineering Technology, or related field. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design is a plus.

  • 2+ years of experience in CAD drafting and design, preferably in equipment mounts, household products, or lighting manufacturing industries.

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or Inventor.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes, including machining, injection molding, and metal fabrication.

  • Experience in creating and modifying 2D and 3D models, technical drawings, and product specifications.

  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and an eye for design and aesthetics.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration and documentation.

  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and ISO drafting standards is preferred.

Pay: $65,000 - $75,000

Depending on the specific client, location, and role benefit may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan. Available paid leave may include Paid Time Off, Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.



Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
