We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Director of Special Event Operations/Banquet Operations to lead and oversee all aspects of private event operations at a high-volume, upscale venue. This role ensures seamless execution of events ranging from intimate gatherings to large corporate functions, delivering exceptional guest experiences while meeting financial goals. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a passion for hospitality, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of private events, including weddings, corporate functions, and social gatherings.
  • Collaborate with sales, culinary, and operations teams to ensure smooth event execution and client satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and staff to foster repeat business and exceptional experiences.
  • Ensure financial goals are met by managing event budgets, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee logistics, including staffing, timelines, and equipment needs, ensuring attention to detail for all events.
  • Uphold high service standards, ensuring guest satisfaction and compliance with health, safety, and service protocols.
  • Monitor event performance, analyze outcomes, and implement recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Manage and mentor the event operations team, fostering a positive, collaborative, and professional work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a director-level role managing high-volume private events with annual revenues of at least $6MM.
  • 6 years of progressive experience in banquet operations in an upscale event setting, including management roles.
  • Exceptional leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple events simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and client relationship management abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage operations is a plus.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
