We are seeking a Staff Accountant (Grants) to join our non-profit team in Seattle, Washington.


Responsibilities:


• Prepare accounting and reporting for governmental contracts/awards and grants from donors.

• Ensure compliance with federal regulations and donor-specific requirements and lead meetings to communicate key compliance requirements to implementing staff across departments.

• Assist with monitoring and compliance audits required by governmental entities.

• Maintain summaries of in-process contracts, grants, and awards.

• Maintain and verify the accuracy of general ledger data with respect to revenue cycle, payroll cycle, government contracts, and donor-restricted grants.

• Process and verify accuracy of contributions received and accounts receivable in coordination with the development team.

• Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries, and maintain key schedules and roll forwards as part of the month-end close process.

• Must possess skills in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger management

• Experience with Journal Entries and Month End Close processes

• Experience with Grant Accounting and Grant Management is beneficial

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Knowledge of accounting principles and ethical standards.
