We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an IT Support Specialist in Decatur, Indiana. This role is in the construction and contractor industry, where you'll be instrumental in ensuring the effective operation and maintenance of our organization's Local Area Network (LAN) at automated manufacturing plants.


Responsibilities:

• Ensure the installation, support, and maintenance of our Cisco-based and Fortinet LAN.

• Assemble and arrange materials and equipment as per specifications, drawings, and instructions.

• Execute the running, pulling, stopping, and splicing of copper and fiber optic cables, including CAT5, 5E, CAT6, and low voltage cables.

• Mount telecom equipment while adhering to industry standards and manufacturer requirements.

• Assist in arranging routers, hubs, switches, and installing support structures, such as racks, ladders, and j-hooks.

• Install access control systems and surveillance cameras.

• Maintain terminal and application servers, routers, bridges, and network connections.

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network industry cabling standards, including fiber, copper, wireless, and business computer hardware.

• Configure TCP/IP connections to the network.

• Assist in the deployment of computer policies and systems to manage end-user needs.

• Participate in and/or assist with multiple concurrent local, regional, or national projects.

• Respond to and resolve helpdesk tickets as assigned and complete all issues in a timely manner.

• Must possess Cisco Certification
• Experience with Fortinet Firewalls is essential
• Knowledge in LAN - Local Area Network is required
• Proficiency in CAT5 and CAT6
• Experience with Low Voltage Cabling
• Familiarity with Fiber Optics is essential
• Telecom experience is a must
• Knowledge of Access Control Systems
• Understanding of TCP/IP protocols
• Cisco CCNA certification is preferred
• Comptia A+ certification is beneficial
• Comptia Network+ certification is an advantage
• Prior experience in the Construction/Contractor industry is preferred
• Position requires a proactive individual with a problem-solving mindset
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills are essential
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Commitment to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
