Collections Specialist

LHH is looking for a full-time Collections Specialist to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 90-day contract that is fully onsite at the client location.
Job SummaryThe Collections Specialist is responsible for managing overdue accounts, contacting clients to arrange payments, and resolving any billing issues. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as an ability to handle sensitive financial data with discretion. The ideal candidate will be able to balance client relations with achieving timely collections to support the organization’s financial health.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccount Management: Monitor assigned customer accounts for overdue payments, contact clients, and follow up on payment statuses.
Customer Communication: Contact clients via phone, email, and mail to collect outstanding payments and handle billing inquiries professionally and tactfully.
Negotiations: Work with clients to develop payment plans or negotiate terms to settle overdue accounts, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Documentation: Accurately document all collections efforts, payment plans, and communications in the system.
Dispute Resolution: Collaborate with other departments to investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, providing clients with solutions in a timely manner.
Reporting: Prepare and maintain collections reports for management, tracking performance metrics and providing updates on account statuses.
Compliance: Adhere to all legal requirements, company policies, and financial regulations in collections practices.
Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related field.
Skills:
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in collections or accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in documentation.
Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism.
Compensation: $30-$35/hour DOE
