Job Overview:

The Packaging Assistant role supports machine operators on a press machine by performing basic packaging and material handling tasks. This project-based position could lead to a permanent hire depending on performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Packaging and Material Handling:

    • Remove rolls from the press machine, place them in boxes, and seal boxes when filled.
    • Place sealed boxes on pallets and use a pallet jack to move completed pallets to designated areas.

  2. Machine Operation Support:

    • Operate basic finishing equipment and tools following established instructions.
    • Perform quality checks, adhere to productivity standards, and follow work order directions.

  3. Safety Compliance:

    • Use provided safety gear (safety glasses, ear plugs, high-visibility vests, and steel-toe shoes).
    • Comply with all required safety practices and regulations.

  4. Learning and Development:

    • Develop skills in using routine machine operation tools and equipment.
    • Learn and apply company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent vocational qualification.
  • Experience: Less than 1 year of experience; no machine experience required.
  • Physical Requirement: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Personal Attributes:
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to build productive working relationships and resolve basic issues with supervision.
