Executive Director of Programs

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Executive Director of Programs provides strategic leadership and oversight for its network and direct-service programs. Reporting directly to the President and CEO and serving as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, this role is responsible for driving program innovation, operational excellence, and measurable outcomes. The Executive Director of Programs will lead program strategy, development, and execution, ensuring alignment with the organizationâ?s mission and long-term goals. This position requires a visionary leader who excels in dynamic environments, manages multiple stakeholder priorities, and fosters a collaborative and results-oriented team culture.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a team of senior leaders who oversee a large and diverse workforce.
- Collaborate with a diverse range of external stakeholders, including nonprofit organizations, government agencies, funding partners, and other key collaborators.
- Partner with leadership to design and implement strategies for evaluating current and future programs, driving measurable impact, operational efficiency, long-term sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Share valuable insights and trends on community development, investment strategies, and innovative programs and solutions, both internally and externally.
- Ensure that both new and existing programs are executed in a manner that upholds financial sustainability and adheres to all relevant regulatory standards.
- Work closely with the executive leadership team and the Finance department to develop the departmental budget, conduct cost/benefit analyses of programs, and forecast future costs related to innovative initiatives.
- Provide guidance, manage, evaluate, and foster the development of direct reports and department leadership to ensure a high-performing team committed to service excellence and consistently meeting deliverables aligned with the organization's strategic goals.
- Ensure the accurate collection, tracking, and reporting of all program activities and deliverables, including the preparation of comprehensive reports for grants, government contracts, and other stakeholder inquiries.

- 10+ years of progressive leadership and management experience.
- Adept at successfully cultivating high-performing teams committed to mission-driven impact.
- Bachelorâ?s degree required; Masterâ?s degree preferred.
- Proven expertise in strategic and tactical planning, as well as annual budget development.
- Exceptional capabilities in performance management and the ability to hold team members accountable.
- Proven success in managing high-stakes relationships with staff, donors, volunteers, and partners while effectively managing projects and workloads.
- Strong commitment to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Additional benefits include Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Sick Leave, and a Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
