Position Summary:


One of the global leaders in the automotive manufacturing space has developed an innovative SaaS application that has put them in an exciting position of growth. Therefore, they are seeking a highly skilled QA Engineer to join the engineering team. In addition to understanding SDLC, you will be responsible for developing and executing thorough functional testing of software applications to ensure they are up to high-quality standards. This includes creating test cases, executing test plans, identifying, and documenting defects, and collaborating with developers to ensure issues are resolved. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.


Experience and Education:


  • Bachelor or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related technical field/experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in manual testing.
  • 5+ years of QA experience testing full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with performing SQL Queries for database testing (MySQL | MongoDB) and/or data analysis/reporting.

Primary Job Responsibilities:


  • Understand the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and apply testing best practices throughout the entire process.
  • Perform Manual Testing on various software applications to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other QA engineers to identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements, and design test coverage plans.
  • Execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate the software against user expectations.
  • Conduct Functional Testing to verify that the software meets the specified requirements.
  • Conduct API Testing to ensure the integration and communication between different software components.
  • Perform Database Testing by creating SQL queries to validate data integrity and consistency.
  • Conduct Blackbox Testing to evaluate the software from an end-user perspective.
  • Conducting thorough Whitebox testing to analyze the internal structure and code of software applications to ensure quality and identify potential issues.
  • Execute Regression Testing to ensure that new changes do not negatively impact existing functionality.
  • Conduct Smoke Testing to quickly assess the stability of the software build.
  • Detect, isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes.
  • Utilize Jira or other project management software to track and manage testing activities.
  • Utilize Linux Command lines to automate test processes, run scripts, check logs, manipulate files, troubleshoot issues, identify bugs, and ensure the quality of the software is being tested.
  • Experience with Source/Revision control systems such as SVN/GIT for version control Document QA processes and procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and testing processes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance manual testing processes, implement industry best practices, and contribute to overall software quality improvement.
