Job Location:  Wood Dale, IL

Salary:
82K – 95K + Commission

Overview
The main purpose of the Sales Manager is to maintain current customers and drive sales initiatives to expand and grow the customer base. They will build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, understand customer needs, and foster internal and external relationships to drive sales strategy in their location. A significant portion of this role is customer-facing, requiring time on the road.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and increase the sales pipeline within the assigned region.
  • Generate new sales leads and foster future opportunities across the network.
  • Play a key role in setting realistic but stretch targets and goals.
  • Engage in product marketing and provide support.
  • Understand the competitor landscape and provide analysis to drive sales strategy.
  • Increase the customer base across all products and services.
  • Drive and engage in both Americas and overseas sales, with occasional travel.
  • Collaborate with department heads to provide feedback and solutions for branch performance.
  • Maintain the highest levels of customer service, proactively managing follow-up and resolution to minimize recurring issues.
  • Support the customer service team during peak periods.
  • Work with branches to offer constructive feedback and solutions, based on customer feedback.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven senior sales executive/business development professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience in sales, ideally with a GSA and/or airline. Freight forwarder industry experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong customer orientation and an understanding of customer needs.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined, with a proven track record of success in relationship development.
  • Flexible attitude towards working hours and a self-starter mentality.
