Legal Assistant

Our client, a leading full-service law firm is looking for an experienced litigation legal assistant to join their growing team working in North Dallas. This is a crucial role to the firm as it requires maintaining a thorough understanding of the rules of civil and federal procedures, as well as the complexities of litigation e-filings. Previous experience supporting busy litigation attorneys and juggling multiple deadlines is required, as well as strong administrative skills and attention to detail. E-filing with the court systems at the state and federal level, strong Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to work well in a team is also required.
This firm offers a very competitive pay as well as a generous benefits package including employer-paid medical premium, dental, vision, 401k + match, vacation/sick/personal time off, free parking, and work-from-home days In addition, this litigation legal assistant position pays overtime for hours worked above 40 per week.
As a Litigation Legal Assistant, your duties will include:
· Provide department support by drafting correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents (i.e. pleadings, briefs, closing documents, discovery shells)
· Prepare files and/or binders for trial, hearings, depositions and meetings.
· Establish and maintain electronic client and administrative files in compliance with current Firm policies.
· Prepare and submit expense reports and attorney billables.
· Flexibility to work overtime occasionally.
· Other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years’ experience as a litigation legal assistant
· Strong Word Processing Skills
· Exceptional grammar, spelling and proofreading skills
· Fundamental knowledge of legal terminology, court rules and procedures
· State and Federal e-filing
· Friendly, organized and reliable
