Job Summary
The Bookkeeper/HR reports to the President and is responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining the day-to-day accounting functions, accruals, financial statement preparation, performing general accounting functions, assists in Human Resources and Payroll duties, as required

Responsibilities

  • Oversee onboarding and orientation for new hires to ensure a smooth transition into the company.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with legal regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Support payroll processing by ensuring accurate data entry related to accounts payable and employee hours.
  • Collaborate with finance teams on budgeting processes and bank reconciliation tasks.
  • Provide support in technical accounting functions, ensuring adherence to GAAP standards.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR systems and processes to maintain accuracy.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively manage Executive Administrative Assistant
  • Full-cycle Accounts Receivable, including Collections
  • New and current Vendor/Customer setup and maintenance
  • Accounts Payable
  • Vendor statement reconciliation and discrepancies
  • Multiple Bank, Loan, and Credit Card Reconciliations (both $USD & €EURO)
  • Work alongside, and concur with, company’s Accountant Agency
  • Reconcile all Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts; reviewing for input accuracy, and prepare monthly reports and journal entries, as necessary
  • General Ledger maintenance
  • Administration/preparation of Quarterly Sales Taxes Returns and Annual Business Taxes

Skills

  • 5 years’ Bookkeeping experience
  • Proficient in computerized Accounting/Bookkeeping Programs (QuickBooks Enterprise, a plus)
  • Knowledge of computerized payroll systems (ADP TotalSource Payroll/HR System, a plus)
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial software is essential for managing budgets effectively.
  • Strong understanding of budgeting principles and corporate accounting practices.
  • Familiarity with technical accounting concepts, including GAAP compliance.
  • Excellent 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry tasks.
  • Experience with bank reconciliation processes is preferred.
  • Ability to manage accounts payable efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
