We are in search of a Payroll Specialist to join our team, based in Knoxville, Tennessee. The role will be primarily focused on enhancing our payroll process across multiple locations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for our employees.


Responsibilities:


• Preparing and processing bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy of approved timesheets, and tracking and deducting all garnishments and other special payroll deductions.

• Managing various payroll-related tasks including maintenance of employee records, setting up direct deposits, calculating adjustments and deductions, and reconciling payroll before transmission.

• Understanding and applying proper taxation and benefit related items in relation to payroll.

• Preparing statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to the payroll function.

• Liaising with auditors and managing payroll tax audits.

• Cooperating with the human resources department for updates regarding salary adjustments.

• Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.

• Processing accurate and timely year-end reporting.


This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The successful candidate will have proficiency in ADP - Financial Services, ADP Workforce Now, Accounting Functions, Multi-state Payroll, and Microsoft Excel.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role

• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now

• Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting Functions

• Experience with Multi-state Payroll processing

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines
