Job Description

Join our fabrication department as a Metal Finisher, where you will take newly welded parts and use a small handheld grinding tool to smooth out the metal work. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to work hard and earn competitive entry-level pay. Great place to start your welding career if you are interested in metal fabrication.

Responsibilities
  • Remove all weld spatter
  • Smooth metals correctly so paint can adhere
  • Use a handheld grinder
  • Move materials as needed
  • Wear protective PPE to protect eyes and arms/body from sparks while grinding
Essential Skills
  • Ability to operate small electric grinding tools
  • Ability to work with power tools or hand tools
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Good work history, even if not in manufacturing
  • Ability to effectively communicate
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 6 months of fabrication experience - grinding preferred
  • No more than 2 jobs in 24 months
  • Willingness to learn and be trained

Work Environment

You will work in a comfortable metal fabrication area that stays warm in the winter and can get warm in the summer. On hotter days, mandatory breaks are provided with Gatorade and Freezee's for hydration. The grinding area consists of a small team of 4-6 people, making teamwork important, although much of the work is done independently.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.70 - $20.70/hr.
