Job Description

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for reading work orders, following production drawings and sample assemblies, or receiving verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. You will perform various operations to join or secure parts in place and may install multi-level subassemblies and modules into racks using complex configurations. You will also perform intermediate assembly tasks and ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.

Responsibilities
  • Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, solder, cement, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
  • Install finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
  • Assemble and attach hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.
  • Perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as wiring servers and mechanical assembly.
  • Perform online go-no-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
  • Set up station with the correct documents and components per assembly drawing.
  • Handle/install polarized/non-polarized components on designated locations on products.
  • Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical requirements or dimensional characteristics.
  • Assist in performing repair work.
  • Communicate any process problems with peers, leads, supervisors, and/or engineers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on production line equipment.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with hand tools and the ability to use a torque screwdriver.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs consistently.
  • Ability to work on elevated platforms or ladders.
  • Experience operating a pallet jack.
  • Electromechanical assembly experience.
  • Ability to follow wire diagrams for assembly work.
  • Attention to detail and good computer skills.
  • Experience assembling complex units for wiring and connecting sub-assemblies into large rack systems.
  • Ability to assist, instruct, and qualify new operators.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with mechanical assembly using power tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints and mechanical assembly drawings.
  • Experience in wiring technicians and reading MPI's.

Work Environment

You will work in an electronic manufacturing environment with day shifts from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and swing shifts from 2:00 pm to 11:30 pm. The job requires the use of ESD straps and involves heavy lifting. The dress code includes appropriate safety gear for handling electronic components.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milpitas, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.40
