Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Adapt instructional materials and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and specialists to ensure cohesive educational strategies.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of student development and services provided.
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in special education.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in special education or a related field (Master's preferred).
- State certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in educational settings.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and instructional methodologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with assistive technology and specialized instructional techniques.
- Previous experience in a similar educational role.
- Additional certifications in specific disability areas (e.g., autism spectrum disorders).
