Job DescriptionJob Description

Responsible for conducting ASTM standard static tests on United Testing System and Static Test Machines, ensuring accurate data collection and compliance with safety regulations.

Job Requirements:
  • Experience with ASTM standard testing procedures
  • Proficiency in operating static test machines, 12" wet saws, and CNC precision grinders
  • Familiarity with data acquisition and control systems
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications for sample preparation
  • Understanding of calibration procedures for testing equipment
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in preparing test specimens using wet saws and precision grinding machines
  • Familiarity with environmental chamber setup and monitoring
  • Knowledge of safety compliance and machine safeguarding techniques
  • Background in material science or engineering testing
Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct static tests on various materials to assess strength, durability, and elasticity per approved test request
  • Prepare samples from engineering and fabrication sources using wet saws and CNC precision grinders
  • Operate standard 12" shop wet saw for cutting composites and CNC precision grinder for dressing material specimens to exact tolerances
  • Set up and utilize data acquisition and control computer to run tests, monitor, and record data for customer reports
  • Maintain calibrated testing equipment, including scheduling calibrations with third-party suppliers and internal metrology departments
  • Collaborate with customer representatives, engineers, and technicians for testing requirements and process validation
  • Support customers in research and process walks of testing setups to validate material impacts under various conditions
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on test machines, environmental chambers, adapters, and hand tools
  • Ensure safety compliance through the proper use of machine safeguards and conducting Job Safety Analysis for unique test setups
  • Prepare specimens for specified time duration and conditions in environmental chambers per test request and deliver specimens to testing apparatus per customer-defined schedules


Pay Details: $40.00 to $50.00 per hour
