Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Associate Director - Human Resources Workers Comp and Leave in the non-profit industry. The role is based in Los Angeles, California, and requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional. The Associate Director will play a crucial role in managing various aspects of human resources, including Administration, Leave of Absence (LOA), and Workers' Compensation functions.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and train staff across Administration, LOA, and Workers' Compensation functions
• Manage the entire lifecycle of LOA programs, including documentation and compliance
• Oversee the Workers' Compensation process and participate in quarterly claim reviews
• Ensure compliance with annual OSHA reporting requirements
• Maintain accurate records for leave and workers' compensation
• Recommend new or revised policies and procedures
• Manage benefits premium collections for employees on LOA or Workers' Compensation
• Address employee inquiries and assist in resolving issues
• Interpret policies and procedures for both employees and managers
• Exhibit a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through inclusive service delivery, ongoing learning and development, and proactive bias mitigation• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the non-profit sector
• Proficient in utilizing ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now for HR functions
• Familiarity with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode, Ceridian, and HRMS
• Proficient in using About Time for time tracking and project management
• Strong understanding and experience in Benefit Functions and Compensation Administration
• Proven experience in ensuring Compliance within the HR department
• Excellent skills in Employee Relations management
• Must have a solid background in handling Workers Comp and Leave procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is required
• Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is preferred
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
