We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Peer Support Worker to join our dynamic team. his unique role requires someone who has firsthand experience with life events such as violence and crime, incarceration, homelessness, or substance use. The ideal candidate will leverage their personal experiences to provide empathetic support, guidance, and encouragement to individuals who are navigating similar challenges while working in the finance industry. The Certified Peer Support Worker will be an integral part of our team, helping to foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all employees.

Job Details



Responsibilities:

  • Provide empathetic and non-judgmental support to individuals who are dealing with challenges related to violence, crime, incarceration, homelessness, or substance use.
  • Utilize personal experiences to establish trust and rapport with individuals, encouraging open communication and mutual understanding.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and implement strategies that promote mental health and well-being within the workplace.
  • Facilitate group discussions and workshops aimed at promoting resilience, coping strategies, and personal growth.
  • Act as a liaison between individuals and management, advocating for the needs and rights of those you are supporting.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all professional ethics and standards.
  • Regularly participate in professional development activities to ensure up-to-date knowledge and skills in peer support and mental health.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a valid certification as a Peer Support Worker.
  • Personal experience with violence, crime, incarceration, homelessness, or substance use.
  • Demonstrated ability to empathetically and effectively support individuals dealing with challenging life experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Strong advocacy skills, with a commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of individuals.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards.
  • Must be willing to participate in ongoing professional development activities.
  • A strong understanding of the finance industry and the unique challenges it can present.
