The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing facility. This role involves managing production activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards, maintaining a safe work environment, and optimizing processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The Manufacturing Operations Manager will lead a team of supervisors and operators to meet production goals while upholding the company’s standards for safety and quality.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Promote a culture of safety within the facility by enforcing safety policies and procedures.
- Plan, organize, and oversee the manufacturing process to ensure production targets are met.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, operators, and other plant personnel.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure products meet the required standards while maintaining adherence to the Quality Management System.
- Prepare reports on capacity, production performance, labor compliance, and other key metrics for senior management.
Competencies:
- Strong leadership abilities, with a proven track record of motivating and managing teams effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of quality control principles, methodologies, and industry-specific standards (ISO, Six Sigma).
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing techniques, continuous improvement processes, and waste reduction strategies.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations, OSHA standards, and safety management practices.
- Accountable for execution of Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, and Cost driving escalation to ensure customer service for internal and external customers.
- Execute all responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards as established by company policies and procedures.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree: Preferably in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in similar role with focus on Manufacturing, Quality, and Safety. • Knowledge of ISO9001 compliance and QMS systems
- Advanced in Microsoft Office Suite: (Excel, Outlook, PPT, Teams)
- Familiarity with manufacturing software systems and data analysis tools. Competence in using software for planning, scheduling, and reporting.
- Prior experience in the crating industry a plus
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
