We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accountant to join our team in Rockwood, Tennessee. The chosen candidate will play a key role in our manufacturing operations, with responsibilities encompassing a range of accounting functions. This role involves working closely with the manufacturing team to optimize cost efficiency and profitability.


Responsibilities:


• Implement and maintain standard cost systems

• Conduct cost analysis to assist decision making in the manufacturing process

• Perform monthly end close tasks and prepare journal entries

• Conduct light budgeting and forecasting activities to guide financial planning

• Maintain inventory control and perform inventory cycle counts

• Collaborate with the plant manager to drive profitability

• Utilize Power BI and Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting

• Manage Bill of Materials (BOM) effectively

• Utilize ProfitStars software for accounting and financial management

• Perform annual inventory checks and adjustments

• Execute various auditing tasks as required

• Fulfil other accounting functions as necessary to support the team's operations.

• Minimum of three years of experience in a Cost Accounting role
• Proficiency in Accounting Functions and Auditing
• Experience with Budget Processes, including Budgeting and Forecasting
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power BI
• Demonstrated understanding of Cost Accounting principles
• Knowledge of Standard Cost Accounting and Manufacturing Cost Accounting
• Proven ability in Cost Analysis
• Familiarity with Bill of Materials (BOM) and Cycle Count processes
• Experience with Annual Inventory management
• Proficiency in ProfitStars Software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus.
