Job Title: Certified Ophthalmic Lead

Join the University of Kentucky's Physician Based Clinics team as a Certified Ophthalmic Lead, responsible for providing day-to-day patient care and support for clinics with over 10 Ophthalmic Assistants or Technicians.

Job Summary

The Certified Ophthalmic Lead is a clinically competent Certified Ophthalmic Assistant responsible for delivering direct patient care, providing orientation and training, and supporting clinic operations. This role involves both preventive and specialty eye care, utilizing diagnostic testing and procedures under the supervision of a provider.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and support for clinics with over 10 Ophthalmic Assistants or Technicians
  • Collaborate with clinic managers and supervisors to develop and implement training programs
  • Deliver high-quality care and ensure positive patient outcomes
  • Support providers to help them focus on patient care and ensure efficient clinic operations
Requirements
  • Minimum certification of Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)
  • 2 years of related experience
  • Excellent oral communication and multi-tasking skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of ophthalmic experience
  • Leadership experience
