The Department of Biology comprises 14 tenured and tenure-track faculty members alongside 14 term faculty dedicated to both undergraduate and graduate education. It is equipped with research facilities, including a 1700 sq. ft. climate-controlled greenhouse and an extensive 80,000 specimen herbarium. The Department serves over 1500 undergraduate majors and employs more than 50 Graduate Teaching Assistants and adjunct faculty. Faculty from related departments contribute to the Biology Department through collaborative courses and research initiatives. About the Position:

The Term Professor of Cell Biology is a faculty role focused on teaching. Responsibilities include instructing two undergraduate courses each semester and providing academic guidance to Biology undergraduates, averaging 20 hours per week. Participation in summer orientation events is also required, with additional compensation provided.

Responsibilities:
  • Delivering undergraduate courses and laboratory sessions;
  • Providing academic advising to undergraduate students.
Required Qualifications:
  • Terminal degree in a relevant field;
  • PhD in cell biology or a closely related discipline, with demonstrated teaching excellence and a commitment to educating a diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in undergraduate academic advising or mentoring is highly desirable.
