Job Summary: Premier Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patients through our hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial counseling and education to patients and their families, ensuring they understand their financial obligations and available payment options.
  • Collect co-pays and deductibles, and/or provide financial assistance education to patients and their families.
  • Register patients in a timely and accurate manner, collecting and entering all pertinent financial and demographic information into the ADT system.
  • Verify insurance benefit information and generate the ABN as needed.
  • Review orders for compliance and complete the MSP process.
  • Obtain financial and treatment consents, and place ordered medical procedures.
  • Obtain pre-certification when applicable, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • High School completion or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in healthcare or related business field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of job-related experience, preferably in customer service, general clerical/office, hospital, medical office/clinic, or insurance company.
  • Proficient in Windows-based computer technology, including keyboarding and typing at least 25 wpm.
  • Medical Terminology certification preferred.
