Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Job Summary:

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will work under the general direction of the Administrator, providing support and training to individuals with developmental disabilities and co-occurring mental illness. The RBT will assist with daily activities, monitor behavior, collect data, and implement skills training plans.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure the supervision, safety, and well-being of individuals at all times.
  • Provide continuous active treatment, including training and service objectives, and ensure implementation and documentation of the Individual Service Plan (ISP).
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of the ISP.
  • Monitor and support individuals' health and well-being, reporting observations to the Administrator and/or District Manager.
  • Ensure daily documentation of individual status, behavior, and treatment responses.
  • Participate in maintaining a clean, safe, healthful, and nurturing environment.
  • Provide quality training and positive interaction with individuals at all times.
  • Adhere to and implement the Company's active treatment philosophy and goals, and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Promote learning, growth, socialization, and independence of individuals.
  • Help develop residents' daily activities, including skill-building, therapeutic, leisure, and recreational activities.
  • Ensure individuals are engaged in meaningful daily activities within the home and community settings.
  • Dress according to dress code and safety purposes.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and participate in continuing education and trainings.
  • Develop relationships with other Company departments, staff, and external agencies.
  • Go above and beyond for individuals and staff.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Registered Behavior Technician certification.
  • Direct Support Professional I and Direct Support Professional II certificates in accordance with Title 17 Requirements.
  • Current certification of Professional Crisis Management (PCM) training or other regional center-approved emergency intervention program.
  • ABA background and ability to create task analysis and determine which areas need more support.
  • At least one year of experience in a related field working with adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Must be over 21.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work mostly in an indoor residential to office setting with occasional outdoor work.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Sitting and standing with occasional bending, stooping, crouching, twisting, squatting, reaching, pulling, keying/fingering, reading, walking, driving, and repetitive motions.
