Job Overview:

The Microwave Assembly Technician is responsible for executing fabrication and modification tasks on RF microwave hybrid modules and sub-assemblies that range from mid to high complexity.

Key responsibilities include the installation of connectors, substrates, components, and modules within intricate microwave assemblies, often employing paste and sheet epoxies.

This role involves precise soldering of components and assemblies according to detailed drawings and specifications.

The ideal candidate, working under limited supervision, will utilize schematics, blueprints, or sketches along with verbal and written instructions to assemble, rework, or reassemble units.



Responsibilities include:

Installation of connectors, substrates, components, and modules in complex microwave assemblies, frequently using paste and sheet epoxies.

Conducting fabrication or modification tasks on RF microwave hybrid modules and sub-assemblies of varying complexity.
Executing surface mount, fine pitch, and through-hole soldering.
Proficiently using miniaturized tools such as tweezers, fine screwdrivers, and soldering irons.
Demonstrating precision and adherence to standardized procedures.
Connecting wires to load cell tabs by interpreting schematics or wiring diagrams.
Consistently meeting high standards for quality and output.

Security Clearance:

Active secret clearance is preferred; however, candidates with a previously held active clearance will be considered. An interim secret clearance is required to commence the position. (Must be noted on resume). Active J-STD-001 certification is mandatory.


Basic Qualifications :

  • Proven experience in electronics or microelectronics assembly.
  • Capability to work for extended periods under a microscope and utilize hand tools such as torque drivers and tweezers; strong dexterity and eye/hand coordination are essential.
  • Ability to interpret and work from detailed process sheets and drawings; good computer skills are necessary for accessing drawings and work instructions.
  • Experience working in a diverse team environment; strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills are required.
  • A High School Diploma is required.
  • Active J-STD 001 Certification is essential.
  • First Shift Hours: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Desired Skills :

  • Familiarity with ESD and FOD controlled environments.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly processes for small electronic devices.
  • Background in working on military products within ISO 9001 / AS9100 controlled environments.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
