Job Summary:

Norton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Electronic Health Records Specialist to join our team. As an EMR Technician, you will play a critical role in collecting, assessing, and processing patient documentation, contributing to overall patient safety, revenue cycle management, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, assess, and process patient documentation in both paper and electronic formats.
  • Announce codes and pages through the hospital communication system, ensuring seamless communication across the Norton network.
  • Answer and transfer calls to the appropriate location, providing exceptional customer support.
  • Store, retrieve, review, and assess health-related information, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide customer support and guide patients through the MyChart app/website, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Request medical records to be mailed or faxed to Norton Healthcare and log through Epic, our digital medical record system.
  • Assist patients with connecting to their zoom visits and general troubleshooting, ensuring a smooth experience.
  • Answer calls from other healthcare entities and release records via request over the phone, Epic, mail, and fax, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • One year of healthcare experience, with a strong understanding of electronic health records and patient documentation.
  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience in a related field, with a focus on health information technology.
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification, with a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
