YesCare is seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our Forensic Unit team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health care and support to individuals involved in the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors and ensure the safety of patients and staff.
  • Assist in the delivery of interventions, including individual contacts, psychoeducational programming, and group sessions.
  • Provide recreational activities to individual patients or groups as assigned.
  • Complete daily documentation of services provided and number of patients participating.
  • Monitor patients during scheduled and free time activities to minimize episodes of out-of-control behavior.
  • Implement skills workshops and programs in behavior management and other psychoeducational activities.
  • Interact with patients in a socially appropriate manner, including involvement in activities or games.
  • Document critical incidents and treatment progress in patient medical records.
  • Participate in unit meetings and follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field.
  • Experience in providing services to a mentally ill and/or correctional population preferred.
  • Must follow all applicable technical instructions and health services bulletins.
  • A background check, security clearance, and drug screening are required for this role.
