Registered Nurse I/II/III

The County of Riverside is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Surgical Acute Unit. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the delivery of safe and efficient care.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of patients with various levels of acuity, delivering safe, efficient, and quality care.
- Conduct thorough initial and ongoing assessments of patients, implementing necessary nursing interventions in accordance with the scope of nursing practice and physician orders.
- Delegate and supervise nursing tasks when working with Licensed Vocational Nurses and Nursing Assistants, within their respective scopes of practice.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide the best care for patients and their families.
- Perform safe medication administration practices, aligning with the organization's policies, nursing scope of practice, and regulatory standards.
- Document all cares provided and other related activities in the delivery of patient care through EPIC electronic charting.
- Develop appropriate nursing plans of care that support physician medical diagnoses and integrate emotional, psychological, social, and financial components of the patient.
- Provide effective patient/family education, assessing any barriers to ensure the patient's and family's learning styles, preferred methods of communication, and language are considered.
- Promote healing and compliance with care by actively engaging patients and their families for a patient/family-centered approach.
- Address patient's and their family's needs and preferences timely by responding to call lights, hourly rounding, and referring to appropriate healthcare or multidisciplinary team members, if needed for specific areas of specialty.
- Discharge patients safely and follow standards for transition of care.
- A current and valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- A current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, issued by the American Heart Association.
- A current and valid National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Three years of inpatient experience highly preferred.
