Job Summary

The Associate Vice President of Student Access at Central Piedmont Community College is a key leadership position responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to increase student access and success. This role requires a strong leader who can collaborate with college stakeholders to promote cross-functional teamwork and advance continuous quality improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in the development of the vision, long-range goals, and objectives for student access staff, including outreach and recruitment, career and college promise, college and career coaches, and other departments as assigned.
  • Implement an outreach and recruitment plan that includes key performance goals and metrics in collaboration with the college community to successfully meet college strategic objectives.
  • Develop a systematic and efficient plan for managing prospects and applicants, and coordinate with college marketing and public relations partners to promote best practices in outreach and recruitment.
  • Establish a system of communication aligned with college efforts for prospects, inquiries, applicants, and registered students that builds strong and lasting relationships, ensuring consistency with existing recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Develop a contact management recruitment strategy that utilizes the client relationships management tool (CRM), social networking, and other forms of communication to recruit students, ensuring consistent efforts with other ongoing statewide outreach initiatives.
  • Support the college's overall dual enrollment goals by developing and implementing strategies for recruitment, retention, and marketing of potential dual enrollment students, including at traditional public schools, early/middle colleges, private schools, charter schools, and homeschool groups.
  • Collaborate with the associate vice presidents in student affairs to provide holistic outreach and support to dual enrollment students.
  • Provide real-time recruitment/conversion reports consistent with those shared with college leadership.
  • Hold regular meetings for staff and faculty within the assigned areas to establish excellent communication, initiate and support group process, and enforce goal-centered accountability.
  • Represent the college at meetings, conferences, and events as appropriate.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between partnering school site administrators and the college's academic leaders to coordinate seamless enrollment processes and student experiences for dual enrolled students.
  • Receive and evaluate recommended annual budgets, correlate budget to items necessary to implement strategic plan, and work with budget managers to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Assume accountability for overall budget management for assigned areas.
  • Partner with college leadership to establish a culture of care for staff that aligns with college mission and core values.
  • Provide guidance on the search for and employment of personnel, evaluation and status of personnel, assign duties and responsibilities as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the vice president of student affairs and/or college leadership on professional development training opportunities for student access staff to assist in reaching individual lead generation and conversion goals.
  • Evaluate direct reports on a yearly basis in coordination with the vice president.
  • Effectively manage disciplinary issues with coordination with human resources.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in higher education, counseling, adult or higher education, or related discipline.
  • Seven to ten years of progressive leadership experience in higher education.
  • Proven success in creating and implementing a strategic outreach and recruitment plan.
  • Demonstrated project management skills to oversee multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines effectively.
