Join the Cleveland Clinic team, where you will collaborate with dedicated professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. As a Clinical Engineer Technician II, you will engage in a variety of responsibilities that support the functionality and safety of medical equipment.
Your role will involve working with critical life-support systems, including anesthesia machines, ventilators, and dialysis machines. You will be integral in equipment planning, research, and departmental initiatives, as well as the installation, maintenance, and repair of diverse medical devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide routine and on-demand clinical engineering services, including repair, maintenance, relocation, and installation of assigned equipment.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of equipment, inventory, and service records.
- Collaborate with IT personnel to ensure seamless integration of medical equipment with information systems.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on medical devices as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements:
An Associate's degree in Biomedical or Electronic Engineering is required, with a Bachelor's degree preferred. Alternatively, a High School diploma/GED combined with relevant experience may be considered.
Certifications:
Certification as a Clinical Engineer (CCE) or Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET) is preferred.
Work Experience:
A minimum of two years of experience as a Clinical Engineering Technician I at Cleveland Clinic or four years of relevant experience in maintaining and troubleshooting medical equipment is required. Equivalent specialized training may substitute for formal education.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Manual dexterity for tool use and visual acuity for reading schematics are essential.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Adherence to standard precautions and use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
