About the Role

As a CBRE Material Handling Equipment Control Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining material handling equipment (MHE) such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply labeling systems, scales HMI systems and control cabinets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor material handling control systems, industrial motor control systems, servo and frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Partner with maintenance technicians to resolve equipment electrical and electronic control problems that create performance deficiencies.
  • Use operation systems assessment reports to improve material handling system reliability through preventive maintenance tasks completion and identify deficiency repairs.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with operations and site support resources in order to escalate issues that impact operations, minimizing downtime impact.
  • Fix and modify software programs for material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers, Allen Bradley Control Logix. Includes Industrial networks such as Ethernet, Control Net, Device Net, Profibus, AS-I, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience.
  • Valid Drivers License required.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Basic math skills.
