Job Title: Fire Sprinkler System Inspector

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a highly skilled Fire Sprinkler System Inspector to join our team. As a Fire Sprinkler System Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and backflows with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and test fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Record and report deficiencies of fire protection systems to SFS and customers, providing detailed documentation and recommendations for improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, as well as offsite monitoring companies, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Operate and maintain specialized equipment, including heat and smoke detector kits, backflow kits, and pump equipment, to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Plan, coordinate, and complete inspections as scheduled, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to handle emergency service and inspection requests, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ensure company-provided vehicles are clean and well-maintained, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Understand and follow SFS's Safety program, SDS book, Hazardous communication program, policies, and procedures, participating in weekly Toolbox talks and staying up-to-date on changing technologies and best practices.
  • Train inspector trainees in all applicable aspects of fire protection, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure a high level of competence within the team.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; NICET and/or state certification preferred based on location.
  • 3-5 years' experience inspecting fire protection systems required; 5+ years' experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills, customer service skills, and decision-making abilities.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required; ability to comply with SFS's Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements.
