Fire Protection Specialist

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm/Sprinkler Inspector to join our team. As a Fire Alarm/Sprinkler Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire protection systems, including fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and backflows, with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Inspect and test fire protection systems to ensure compliance with NFPA codes and regulations.
- Record and report deficiencies in fire protection systems to Summit Fire & Security and customers.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, as well as offsite monitoring companies.
- Operate specialized tools and equipment, including heat and smoke detector kits, backflow kits, and pump equipment.
- Plan, coordinate, and complete inspections as scheduled in a timely manner.
- Be available for on-call status to handle emergency service and inspection requests.
- Maintain company-provided vehicles and ensure all assigned tools are safeguarded and maintained.
- Understand and follow Summit Fire & Security's safety program, SDS book, hazardous communication program, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in weekly toolbox talks and stay up-to-date with changing technology, installation, and testing approaches.
- Train inspector trainees in all applicable aspects of fire protection.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- NICET and/or state certification required based on location; preferred if not required.
- 3-5 years' experience inspecting fire protection systems required; 5+ years' experience preferred.
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team, with basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, customer service skills, decision-making skills, ability to multitask, and ability to meet project schedules.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
- Ability to comply with Summit Fire & Security's drug and alcohol policy and background screening requirements.
