Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Support Technician to join our Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) team. As a Clinical Support Tech I, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians and healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care.
  • Review patient care documentation, identifying any significant changes in the patient's condition and reporting to registered nurses or physicians promptly.
  • Provide a range of clerical tasks, including organizing workload, greeting visitors, researching information, reviewing orders, and maintaining medical records.
  • Offer clinical support assistance, such as cleaning the work area, maintaining office equipment, and transporting patients and supplies.
  • Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with ambulation, as outlined in the plan of care.
  • Reinforce routine teaching given to patients by registered nurses or physicians and document patient understanding of instructions.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Listed as Nurse Aide I Registry with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
  • One year of clerical or customer service experience and six months of related nursing assistant experience
Work Environment

This is a 36-hour per week position, working 12-hour rotating shifts with weekend and holiday rotation. The MICU is a 30-bed critical care unit with a rapidly growing oncology patient population, offering staff the opportunity to develop oncology critical-care subspecialty skills.

This position qualifies for our Nursing Support Incentive Program, which includes a $5,000 payment over a three-year commitment. You will also receive an extensive benefit package, including PTO hours, accrued based on worked hours.

Orientation Schedule: Monday and Tuesday - In-person from 8am to 4pm; Wednesday - 8am to 10am Virtual and in-person from 1pm to 5 pm; and Thursday and Friday - Virtual
