The Meetings & Events Manager will play a pivotal role in formulating and executing procurement strategies for meetings and events at Bausch + Lomb.

This position will report to the Senior Manager of Sourcing Support and will be tasked with developing and implementing procurement strategies and processes tailored specifically for meetings and events.

The effectiveness of this role will be evaluated based on successful meeting execution and cost efficiency through the establishment of new and preferred supplier relationships, while fostering collaboration across various commercial and functional business units.


Key Responsibilities:

Category Management Strategy:

Formulate and implement comprehensive category management strategies for meetings and events, ensuring alignment with Bausch + Lomb's strategic objectives, financial goals, and operational needs.


Category Planning:

Create both short- and long-term plans by integrating internal business needs assessments with insights from market intelligence, benchmarking, and an understanding of the supply base and regional market variations to optimize value and performance.


Strategic Sourcing:

Apply strategic sourcing methodologies for meetings and events to identify and select the most cost-effective and innovative suppliers while nurturing internal stakeholder relationships.


Supplier Relationship Management:

Identify, onboard, and cultivate relationships with new and preferred suppliers, negotiating advantageous terms and pricing.


Cost Optimization:

Spearhead initiatives aimed at optimizing meeting and event expenditures, driving cost savings, and enhancing procurement processes while upholding quality standards.


Contract Management:

Oversee the negotiation, management, and drafting of contracts with suppliers for meetings and events, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards to mitigate risk.


Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in sales, marketing, finance, and other event organizers to align procurement strategies with business needs by soliciting regular feedback, sharing best practices, and addressing issues with the Head of Indirect Procurement as necessary.


Budget Management:

Work in conjunction with the Head of Indirect Procurement and business unit finance to manage budgets, monitor expenses, and report on cost savings.


Compliance:

Ensure that all procurement activities related to meetings and events adhere to company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.

Event Planning, Coordination, and On-site Support: Develop and manage an event calendar, scheduling/planning timelines and budgets; coordinate all logistics for events including venue selection, catering, audio-visual equipment, transportation, and accommodations; liaise with agencies, suppliers, and venues to guarantee top-quality service and adherence to budget; oversee event setup, execution, and teardown, ensuring seamless operations.


Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related discipline.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in event planning and management.

Proven experience in negotiating complex service agreements.

Demonstrated expertise in RFI/RFP/RFQ development, evaluation, negotiations, execution, and contract management.

Exceptional leadership and team management skills as a strategic thinker with a results-driven approach.

Proven capability to manage large-scale events and multiple projects concurrently.

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

Proficiency in event management software and tools.

Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in corporate event planning.

Awareness of current trends in event management and hospitality.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events.

Capability to lift and carry event materials and equipment as necessary.
