Job Overview

Objective

The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is tasked with leading and managing the warehouse activities for each retail location. This role includes overseeing warehouse staff, including order pickers and forklift operators, while coordinating the daily freight schedule in alignment with customer and inventory requirements.

Essential Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution center setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a focus on team building, delegation, and follow-up.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships across various departments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical calculations.
  • Strong computer proficiency, particularly in Windows-based systems.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure efficient shipping and receiving of products.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, maintenance, and inventory management.
  • Ensure accuracy in Storage Buy transactions and address receiving discrepancies.
  • Maintain warehouse equipment through preventive maintenance and necessary repairs.
  • Implement safety programs to ensure a clean and safe work environment, adhering to OSHA regulations.
  • Train associates on standard operating procedures and ensure compliance.
  • Manage the disciplinary process, including counseling and warnings, to maintain a positive work atmosphere.
  • Address employee inquiries and resolve operational issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance warehouse efficiency.
  • Complete necessary reports for management review.
  • Monitor paperwork flow for timely data entry and resolve discrepancies in shipping and invoicing.
  • Ensure proper staging and storage of products to optimize space and safety.
  • Oversee inventory rotation within the warehouse.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Work Environment

  • This position involves frequent exposure to a warehouse setting and moving vehicles, with a moderate to noisy noise level.

Physical Requirements

Physical demands include the ability to exert 30-60 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The role requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and balancing.
