Critical Care Specialist

The Intensivist Physician at Exceed Medical is a certified, licensed physician who works independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to acutely ill and/or medically complex patients in the intensive care unit.
Key Responsibilities- Demonstrate knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, and presentation of acute medical conditions, such as sepsis, acute respiratory failure, and shock states.
- Use critical thinking skills to synthesize and analyze patient data.
- Perform comprehensive or problem-focused history and physical assessments for critically ill adult patients.
- Order, collect, and correctly interpret and evaluate laboratory and/or other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and healthcare needs.
- Prescribe and manage pharmacologic agents and/or other treatment modalities with attention to efficacy and safety.
- Formulate and implement comprehensive outcomes-based treatment plans using patient assessment, evidence-based medicine, standards of care, professional practice guidelines, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, when appropriate.
- Evaluate patient responsiveness to treatment therapies and adjust the treatment plan, as indicated.
- Initiate timely consultation and referral, including with the collaborating physician, based on the needs of the patient.
- Facilitate and maintain ongoing communication with the patient, family, and/or healthcare team members.
- Counsel and educate patients and families regarding medical processes and treatment.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Actively participate in teaching and training of Advanced Practice providers and/or residents.
- Complete timely and accurate billing that is corroborated with the medical record.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary teams to ensure multidisciplinary rounds are completed with understanding and explanations provided for treatment modalities and therapies.
- Must be a board-certified or board-eligible in Critical Care.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Professional affable demeanor.
