Key Responsibilities- Pre-Operative Preparation: Prepare the operating room, equipment, and supplies for each procedure, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
- Surgical Assistance: Provide skilled assistance to surgeons and anesthesiologists during procedures, maintaining the highest standards of sterile technique and patient care.
- Instrument Management: Maintain and update instrument sets, ensuring they are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care and coordination.
- Quality and Safety: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to hospital policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military training equivalency.
- Experience: Two years of experience as a Surgical Technologist, with a strong background in operating room procedures and patient care.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, with one of the following certifications: CSA (Certified Surgical Assistant), TS-C (Technologist in Surgery-Certified), CST (Certified Surgical Technologist), or GRNDF (Surgical Technologist Met Grandfather Clause).
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using hospital databases, such as EPIC, and procedure software, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and surgical instruments.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and solve problems in a fast-paced operating room environment.
This position requires working in a fast-paced operating room environment, with frequent exposure to surgical procedures and patient care. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
