Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Surgical Technologist to join our team at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. As a key member of our surgical team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
  • Anticipate the needs of surgeons and nursing staff by passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
  • Assist with sponge, instrument, and needle counts.
  • Maintain highest standards of sterile technique during pre and post-procedure.
  • Participate in debriefing and quality improvement practices to ensure quality patient care.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military training equivalency.
  • Two years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Licenses and certifications: BLS, CSA, TS-C, CST, or GRNDF.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Strong knowledge of instruments, surgical supplies, and autoclave equipment.
  • Experience in robotic minimally-invasive surgeries and cardiology services.
