**About the Opportunity**

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Code Compliance Specialist to join our team at the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about ensuring public safety through effective code enforcement.

**Job Summary**

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing architectural or engineering drawings and related documents to ensure compliance with building codes and reference standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge of construction practices and techniques, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Conduct thorough reviews of plans and specifications to identify potential code violations
  • Work closely with field inspectors to ensure compliance with building codes and reference standards
  • Issue certificates of occupancy and provide guidance to stakeholders on code-related matters

**Requirements**

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; four years of experience in drafting or preparing building construction documents or supervision of building construction preferred
  • Must hold a current certificate for Level III (three) plans and specifications inspector issued by the Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction practices and techniques, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills

**Salary**

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $60,000-$70,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
