Job Title: Transportation Engineer SpecialistJob Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer Specialist to join our team at the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. As a key member of our Department of Highways/Office of Project Delivery & Preservation/Operations & Pavement Management, you will play a crucial role in analyzing data from various sources to evaluate maintenance performance, pavement performance, and treatment selection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Combine data from multiple sources to improve budget decisions for maintenance spending.
  • Review and analyze data to enhance pavement management project selection.
  • Conduct inspections of paving projects to assess performance and recommend treatment options.
  • Review awarded contract records and ensured construction history for pavement segments and material data are accurately reflected in PMS.
Requirements
  • Must have four years of engineering experience in addition to that required for licensure as a Professional Engineer.
  • A master's degree in engineering will substitute for one year of the required experience.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification.
  • Must be licensed as a professional engineer by the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Engineers and Land Surveyors.
